Douglas Campbell - Vice President, AMA TechTel
Douglas Campbell is Vice President of AMA TechTel; one of the largest regional CLEC's and WISPs using both unlicensed and licensed devices to bring broadband to rural communities. During his tenure with a technology firm, Douglas Campbell established major relationships with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the State Department, which enhanced international trade relations and secured new international accounts in Mexico, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria. Mr. Campbell has a background is in engineering, sales, marketing, and management. He also serves on numerous not-for-profit boards at the federal, state and local level as well as numerous committees to further technology and its use in telecommunications in rural Texas.

AMA TechTel was started in 1995 as an ISP; AMA TechTel has grown to become a strong regional facility-based CLEC serving West Texas. As a regional provider, its focus is to continue to integrate broadband with other technologies to assist rural communities in economic development, telemedicine, and community networking. AMA TechTel serves a combined customer base of 18,000, approximately 8,000 of whom are broadband subscribers. AMA TechTel's wireless footprint now exceeds 20,000 square miles. Its customers include schools, public offices, and rural residences and businesses. Although it competes in some markets with other types of services from DSL, Ethernet and T-1's, it also serves many locations where no wireline broadband alternative exists. AMA TechTel employs both unlicensed devices operating in the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.3 and 5.7 GHz bands in addition to 3.65 GHz WiMax for last mile connections to its customers.
