Detlef Spang was appointed managing director of Major Enterprise Division in November 2008. Prior to this, he was MD UK, and was first appointed to this role in September 2007. He joined COLT in September 2004 as managing director, Sales & Marketing before becoming managing director, Germany in May 2006. Before joining COLT, Detlef was Senior Vice President EMEA at Equant, heading up the Sales and Marketing organisation. Prior to this, he was responsible for Sales and Marketing in Western Europe following the merger of Equant and Global One. Detlef has extensive experience in the telecomms sector, having worked for Global One in the US and Deutsche Telekom, Sprint and Cable & Wireless in Germany. He studied at Siemens Business School and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master in Technical and Organizational Communications.
